Mixed Summer Scrap Sort
Detroit · Scrap Metal Pickup · One afternoon, one truck, one very happy homeowner — thirty years of accumulation sorted into full-value grades and gone.
The Job
The call came with a photo that made us grin: a garage-side mountain built up over three decades — copper pipe from two bathroom remodels, aluminum siding from a re-side, a collapsed swing set, three generations of lawnmowers, and boxes of fasteners nobody could identify. The homeowner figured it would take a week and a dumpster. It took one crew and one afternoon.
Sorting on site was the whole game. Copper went in one Gaylord, aluminum in another, steel and iron straight to the truck bed — and the homeowner watched every grade hit the scale. The copper and aluminum paid out on the spot; the steel rode free. By dinner the side yard was grass again for the first time since the nineties.
